PA-American to Acquire Assets of Redstone Water Company

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today approved a portion of Redstone Water Company’s assets be transferred to PA American Water Company (PAWC).
On Feb. 4, 2006, PAWC and Redstone Water Company filed joint applications for the transfer of assets of Redstone’s Crescent Heights (Washington County) and Allison I and II Water Systems (Fayette County) to PAWC.
PAWC must obtain a certificate of public convenience prior to acquiring the physical assets and facilities of the Redstone Water Company before beginning to provide service to these customers.
Redstone Water Company currently provides water service to portions of West Pike Run Township, Washington County, Redstone and Luzerne townships, Fayette County.
The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission ensures safe, reliable and reasonably priced electric, natural gas, water, telephone and transportation service for Pennsylvania consumers, by regulating public utilities and by serving as stewards of competition.
