HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today approved a rate increase requested by CMV Sewage Co. Inc.
The Commission voted 5-0 to approve the rate increase of $81,771 (65 percent). According to the company, the main reason for the rate increase is to allow recovery of its increased investment in its wastewater plant.
The rate increase reflects an across-the-board increase to both the customer charge and the usage rates. The quarterly customer charge will increase to $11.86 from $7.50. The quarterly usage rates will increase to $9.65 from $6.10 per 1,000 gallons of water.
CMV provides wastewater treatment in Chanceford and North Cordorus townships, York County. CMV collects, treats and disposes of wastewater from the residential communities of Chanceford Manor Village and Colonial Crossings.
The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission ensures safe, reliable and reasonably priced electric, natural gas, water, telephone and transportation service for Pennsylvania consumers, by regulating public utilities and by serving as responsible stewards of competition.
