HARRISBURG – Department of General Services Secretary James P. Creedon and Public Utility Chairman Wendell Holland will kick off the 2007 Energy Expo at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 26, in the Keystone Building atrium, Commonwealth Avenue and Forster Street, Harrisburg.
The Energy Expo is being held as part of Energy Conservation Week, April 22 – 28, to showcase the state’s work to conserve and reduce energy consumption. Last year, the Commonwealth reduced energy consumption by nearly 10 percent, reaching $1.6 million in savings. These same initiatives can also benefit homeowners in helping to reduce overall utility expenses.
The expo will feature 55 vendors who will display innovative energy conservation measures and state-of-the-art conservation technology. Coinciding with “Take Your Child to Work Day,” awards will be presented to the winners of a coloring contest, and the Whitaker Center will present five live performances of “Race To Renew.”
Various alternative fuel and hybrid vehicles also will be displayed.
