Electric Utilities and Electric Grid Managers to Highlight Electric Reliability

Harrisburg – Pennsylvania’s electricity providers and PJM Interconnection will brief the Public Utility Commission (PUC) on their plans to meet the demand for electricity throughout the Commonwealth during the summer months, particularly at peak times.

The briefing will take place at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, June 12, in Hearing Room 3 of the Commonwealth Keystone Building.

Topics that will be covered during the meeting will include: forecasted load and capacity; environmental considerations; plant additions and retirements; and the effect of electric line contacts on electric reliability.

Speakers will include:

  • Tom Falin, Manager, Capacity Adequacy, PJM Interconnection;
  • Douglas Biden, President, Electric Power Generation Association;
  • J. Michael Love, President and CEO, Energy Association of Pennsylvania; and
  • Bill Kiger, President, PA One Call
