HARRISBURG -The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today announced further information for a special public hearing on Thursday, Nov. 13, on alternative energy resources, energy conservation and efficiency, and demand side response (DSR) tools and programs to assist consumers.

The hearing will solicit comments from parties on topics in the attached list of questions.  As part of the informal en banc hearing process explained in the secretarial letter issued today, the five PUC Commissioners will question the speakers after their testimony.  Interested parties have until Oct. 15 to notify the Commission if they wish to testify or provide comments at the hearing.

The hearing will be held at 12:30 p.m. in Hearing Room 1 of the Commonwealth Keystone Building in Harrisburg.  The public is welcome to attend.

This hearing is not an adversarial proceeding, and companies may be represented by a partner, bona fide officer, or employee of the company in lieu of an attorney.

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission balances the needs of consumers and utilities to ensure safe and reliable utility service at reasonable rates; protect the public interest; educate consumers to make independent and informed utility choices; further economic development; and foster new technologies and competitive markets in an environmentally sound manner.
