PUC Approves Lower Rate Increase than Requested by Mercer County Wastewater Co.

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today approved a settlement agreement approving a rate increase for wastewater service for Reynolds Disposal Co., Mercer County.

The Commission voted 5-0 to approve the joint settlement, which allows the company to increase its annual rates by $49,500.  The company had originally proposed an increase in annual revenue of $77,167.  As part of the settlement, the average quarterly residential wastewater bill based on a quarterly usage of 10,500 gallons will increase from $100.15 to $111.06 a quarter.  Under the company’s original proposal, the quarterly increase would have been from $100.15 to $117.07 a quarter. 

Reynolds Disposal Co. provides wastewater service to about 680 customers in portions of Mercer County.
