PUC Fines Western Pennsylvania Paratransit Service $2,000 for Violations

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today fined Medic Rescue $2,000 for violations of the Public Utility Code and Commission regulations.  

The Commission voted 5-0 to fine the company for several violations.

Based on a complaint received, a Commission enforcement officer performed a compliance review at the company facility in Beaver.  During the review, the officer found 48 instances of the company charging higher and lower rates than those specified in the company tariff and permitted by the Commission, resulting in a violation of Commission regulations. 

Medic Rescue provides paratransit service between points in Beaver, Allegheny, Butler, Lawrence and Washington counties.
