PUC Approves $5,000 Settlement with York County Cab Company for Violations

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today finalized a settlement with York Cab Inc. for violations of the Public Utility Code and Commission regulations.
The Commission voted 3-2 to adopt the proposed settlement, which fines the company $5,000. Chairman Robert F. Powelson and Vice Chairman John F. Coleman, Jr. issued a joint dissenting statement.
Pursuant to enforcement responsibilities, the Commission’s Bureau of Transportation and Safety (BTS) initiated a complaint against the company for failing to maintain evidence of insurance on file with the Commission, for a lapse in insurance coverage and for operating during a lapse in insurance.
York Cab Inc. has a certificate of public convenience for call or demand authority in York County.
