PUC Approves Rate Increase Request for Water Co. in Lebanon County

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission today approved a rate increase request by Quentin Water Co., Lebanon County.

The Commission voted 5-0 to approve an annual increase in rates of $16,631 (24.8 percent).  As part of the company’s increase, the quarterly bill for an average residential customer using 13,000 gallons of water per quarter will increase $16.49 from $65.81 to $82.30 (25.06 percent).  Quentin Water Co. provides water service to approximately 700 customers in portions of Lebanon County.

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission balances the needs of consumers and utilities to ensure safe and reliable utility service at reasonable rates; protect the public interest; educate consumers to make independent and informed utility choices; further economic development; and foster new technologies and competitive markets in an environmentally sound manner.
