PUC Fines York County Paratransit Co. for Failure to Pay Assessment Balances

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission today voted to fine Jatmon Enterprises Inc. $4,570 for failure to file assessment reports for its 2009 and 2010 calendar year revenues and for failure to pay the required assessments for fiscal years 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12. 

The Commission voted 5-0 to fine the company and revoke their certificate prohibiting them from operating legally in Pennsylvania if they fail to pay the fine and outstanding assessments.

The Commission ordered the company to pay $21,329.33, which includes an outstanding assessment balance of $16,759.33 and a $4,570 penalty.

Jatmon Enterprises Inc. provides paratransit service in York County. 

Under the Public Utility Code, the Commission is funded by assessments of regulated utilities. The Code also authorizes the Commission to impose civil penalties on utilities for violations of the Public Utility Code and PUC regulations. The company subject to today’s actions, failed to respond to the PUC’s requests to bring their assessments up-to-date and in line with the Public Utility Code.
