HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today fined Yellow Cab Co. $1,500 for violating the Public Utility Code and Commission regulations.
The Commission voted 5-0 to fine the company $1,500 for violations including:
- Failing to provide reasonable service; and
- Imposing a fare in violation of the company’s tariff.
The violations stemmed from a consumer complaint filed against the company with the Commission. In its decision, the PUC said the company failed to provide reasonable service when the driver refused to provide his name and certificate number to the consumer when requested. The Commission also said the company imposed a fare in violation of its tariff.
Yellow Cab provides taxi service in Allegheny County.
