PUC Approves Rate Increase for NRG Energy Center Harrisburg

HARRISBURG - The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today approved a settlement to increase rates for NRG Energy Center Harrisburg LLC.
The Commission voted 5-0 to approve the company’s annual rate increase of $875,000 (11.8 percent). The settlement was reached among the company, the Commission’s Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement, the Office of Consumer Advocate and the Office of Small Business Advocate. The monthly bill for a typical residential customer who purchases 8.1 Mlbs of steam each month will increase $24 from $183 to $207 (13.1 percent).
NRG Energy Center provides steam heat to approximately 143 customers in the City of Harrisburg.
