C-2012-2287152 Closed 2/6/2012 Complainant states that their initial deal with the company was for $802, less 5% discount for going to Penn State and 5% discount if paying with cash. Complainant states that the Owner Mike Delfra came out inspected what was to be moved and gave the estimate of cost. Complainant states that three members of the moving crew came around 7:30, and had complainant and complainant's neighbor move their vehicles. Complainant states crew made telephone calls, took frequent breaks and moved slowly. Complainant states the first part of the move was pretty good. Complainant states that as they were moving furniture in to their new home, there was dents on some of the furniture, and some of the walls and woodwork was scuffed and gouged.Complainant states that when they asked about having moving blankets protecting the furniture, they were told that it was not company policy to do so. Complainant states that they showed the team leader all the damage, and was told they would need to pay an excess of $1000. Complainant states they tried to get the owner to come and see the damage, but the owner refused until the bill was paid. Complainant states they refused to pay, and the owner said they would meet in court.Complainant states they paid a discounted price of $425 plus $100 deposit, and never received insurance forms, because they were told the company was done with them.Complainant wants to be reimbursed the .60 per pound of furniture insurance money.
