PUC Approves Lower Rate Increase than Requested by Clarion County Water Co.

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today approved a lower rate increase than requested by Corner Water Supply & Service Corp., Clarion County
The Commission voted 5-0 to approve an increase that allows the company to increase its annual revenues by $17,347 (5.37 percent). The company’s original proposal called for an increase of $42,771 (13.24 percent).
Under the new rates, the bill for the average residential customer who uses 40,500 gallons of water a year would increase by $21 (5.39 percent) from $389.70 to $410.70. Under the company’s original proposal, the average residential customer who uses 40,500 gallons of water a year would have seen an increase of $51.50 (13.22 percent) to $441.20.
Corner Water provides service to about 600 customers in Paint and Elk townships, Clarion County. More information on the ratemaking process is available on the Commission’s website.
