PUC Approves Rate Increase Request for Lancaster County Co.

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today approved a rate increase requested by Acorn Water Co., Lancaster County.
The Commission voted 5-0 to approve an increase that allows the company to increase its annual revenues by $7,413 (245.9 percent).
Under the new rates, the bill for the average residential customer who uses 38,000 gallons of water a year would increase by $212 (177 percent) a year from $120 to $332.
Acorn Water provides service to about 21 customers in Earl Township, Lancaster County. More information on the ratemaking process is available on the Commission’s website.
