HARRISBURG - The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today voted to fine Classic Limousines $1,867.40 for failure to file an assessment report for its 2010 calendar years revenues and for failure to pay the required assessments for fiscal years 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12.

The Commission voted 5-0 to approve a motion of Commissioner Wayne E. Gardner.

The Commission may also revoke the company’s certificate of public convenience, prohibiting them from operating legally in Pennsylvania if the company fails to pay the fine and outstanding assessments.

The Commission ordered the company to pay $7,660.07, which includes an outstanding assessment balance of $5,792.67 and a $1,867.40 penalty.

Classic Limousines provides limousine service in Montgomery, Chester and Philadelphia counties.

Under the Public Utility Code, the Commission is funded by assessments of regulated utilities. The Code also authorizes the Commission to impose civil penalties on utilities for violations of the Public Utility Code and PUC regulations. The company subject to today’s actions, failed to respond to the PUC’s requests to bring their assessments up-to-date and in line with the Public Utility Code.
