Consumer Energy Issues to be Highlighted by PUC Chairman Brown at Harrisburg Forum

HARRISBURG – Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) Chairman Gladys M. Brown will join representatives from numerous agencies, utilities and other organizations for an energy forum on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, at the Harrisburg Mall.

The event is being hosted by the Epsilon Sigma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Other participants include the Pennsylvania Office of Consumer Advocate, Home Depot, Pennsylvania-American Water, PPL Electric Utilities, the Retail Energy Supply Association (RESA), UGI Utilities and Pennsylvania State Rep. Patty Kim.

The energy forum runs from 12 Noon to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, in the Center Court section of the Harrisburg Mall. It will provide mid-state residents with an opportunity to learn more about energy conservation and shopping for utility services. The forum will also include easy Do It Yourself projects aimed at helping save money on home heating bills. 

“I am happy to participate in this energy forum, as Chair of the PUC and a member of the sorority, as we join together to help consumers prepare for the coming winter,” said Chairman Brown. “In addition to learning more about how to shop for power, conserve energy and save money, it is also important for families to understand more about the resources and assistance programs that may be available to help them – because nobody should struggle to heat their home.”
