HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today approved an annual rate increase for Andreassi Gas Co., Butler County.
The Commission voted 5-0 to approve an annual increase in rates of $67,700 (21.2 percent). The new rates take effect immediately, and represent the first increase in base rate revenue requested by Andreassi Gas Co. since Nov. 24, 2007. The average bill for a residential customer using 6 Mcf a month will increase from $64.08 to $75.22 (17.38 percent), while the average bill for a commercial customer using 28 Mcf a month will increase from $239.76 to $280.76 (17.10 percent).
In its filing, Andreassi Gas Co. stated that the additional revenue will help offset costs for repairs and increased manpower needed to maintain current production levels at the gas company’s utility plant, as well fulfill the company’s ongoing requirements for pipeline safety training for its workforce. Andreassi Gas serves 353 residential customers and 19 commercial customers in Karns City Borough, Fairview Township and Donegal Township in Butler County, as well as Bradys Bend Township and Sugarcreek Township in Armstrong County.
