HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today released a Management Efficiency Investigation report for Columbia Water Company evaluating the implementation of recommendations from a May 2018 Focused Management and Operations Audit Report.

The Commission voted 5-0 to make the audit report and Columbia Water’s implementation plan public.

The report indicates that the company has effectively or substantially implemented six of the 12 prior recommendations and has taken some action on the remaining six recommendations. The Commission’s Bureau of Audits has made six follow-up recommendations for improvement.

Among the more notable improvements achieved by Columbia Water Company are:

  • Exercised critical valves in accordance with best practices.
  • Successfully reduced overall banking costs by approximately $1,000 monthly.
  • Established a damage prevention program.
