PUC Activates Disaster Relief Hotline to Assist Customers

HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) has activated a temporary disaster relief hotline to assist customers who are experiencing utility problems related to Hurricane Floyd.
Customers may call 1-800-757-3677 to report utility problems or to ask questions about their utility service. Representatives from the PUC's Bureau of Consumer Services will work with the customers and the utilities to resolve the problems.
The hotline is being operated in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA), which has activated Disaster Recovery Centers in Southeastern Pennsylvania to help deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Floyd. PUC staff will be at the sites to distribute information about the utility hotline to customers.
The hotline hours of operation are:
- Wednesday, Sept. 22 1 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
- Thursday, Sept. 23 10 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
- Friday, Sept. 24 10 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
- Saturday, Sept. 25 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
- Sunday, Sept. 26 Noon - 4 p.m.
- Monday, Sept. 27 through Friday, Oct. 1 10 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
