PUC Appoints Jan Rea as Member of Consumer Advisory Council

    HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) recently approved the appointment of Allegheny County resident Jan Rea as a member of its Consumer Advisory Council.

    Rea worked as a secretary for the Heinz Corporation and for a law firm. She comes to the council with many years of experience as an advocate for the North Hills neighborhoods of Pittsburgh. As a committed and active civic leader, she has served on the board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania and the Homeless Children & Family Emergency Fund. She is also a Republican State Committee Representative and a member of the Northern Area Chamber of Commerce.

    The Consumer Advisory Council represents the public in advising the PUC commissioners on matters relating to the protection of consumer interests which are under the jurisdiction of the PUC. Members also serve as a source of information and advice for the commissioners. Council meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month and are open to the public.
