PUC Ratifies Appointments to Consumer Advisory Council

HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) recently reappointed current members to its Consumer Advisory Council.
The following members will serve on the Council for the 1999-2001 term: Cindy Datig, Joseph Dudick, Jr., Joy M. Dunbar, Harry S. Geller, William J. Jones, Carl Kahl, and Andrew McElwaine. Also returning to the council are Brooks Montcastle, Christina Jirak ODonnell, Dr. Daniel M. Paul, James S. Schneider and Julio J. Tio.
Cindy Datig serves as the Executive Director of the Dollar Energy Fund, Inc. Ms. Datig resides in Pittsburgh.
Dauphin County resident Joseph Dudick, Jr. is Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Rural Affairs Development Council, a collaborative partnership within the Governors Office comprised of representatives of the private and non-profit sectors and local, state and federal government agencies.
Joy M. Dunbar directs the Pennsylvania Rural Leadership Program at Pennsylvania State University. She resides in Clarion County.
Dauphin County resident Harry S. Geller is Director of the Pennsylvania Utility Law Project.
William J. Jones is a retired Deputy Director of the Delaware County Court Services. He resides in Delaware County.
Somerset County resident Carl Kahl is a retired public school teacher and administrator. He is the owner of a small beef farm.
Brooks Montcastle resides in Dauphin County. He is a policy analyst with the Clean Air Council.
Westmoreland County resident Christine Jirak ODonnell is a marketing specialist with Compunetix.
Dr. Daniel M. Paul is president of Partners in Distance Learning, serving the Northeast counties of Schuylkill, Luzerne, Columbia, Lackawanna and Bradford. He resides in Schuylkill County.
James S. Schneider is manager of corporate energy affairs for R.R. Donnelley and Sons Company. He resides in Lancaster County.
Dauphin County resident Julio J. Tio is a retired chemical engineer, with extensive background in technical and marketing fields in both private and public environments. He also serves as a spokesperson for the Hispanic community. The Consumer Advisory Council represents the public in advising the PUC commissioners on matters relating to the protection of consumer interest which are under the jurisdiction of the PUC. Members also serve as a source of information and advice for the commissioners. Council meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month and are open to the public.
