Natural Gas Suppliers to Brief PUC on Reliability for this Winter

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission will hold its annual winter reliability briefing this week to provide a snapshot of various conditions that may affect supply, price and service reliability of natural gas over the upcoming winter.
The briefing will take place at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, in the PUC’s Executive Chambers on the 3rd Floor of the Commonwealth Keystone Building.
Topics that will be covered during the meeting include: supply and demand forecasts; storage levels; anticipated prices; and service reliability issues.
Speakers at the meeting will include:
- J. Michael Love, President and CEO, Energy Association of Pennsylvania;
- Mike Anderson, Director, Supply Planning, Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania;
- Doreen Wrick, Project Manager, Business Development, Duke Energy;
- Lou D’Amico, Executive Director, Independent Oil & Gas Association of Pennsylvania;
- Harry Hanger, Manager, Imports and Risk Management, AmeriGas; and
- Edward J. Zogby, Director of Policy, Office of Income Maintenance, Department of Public Welfare.
The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission balances the needs of consumers and utilities to ensure safe and reliable utility service at reasonable rates; protect the public interest; educate consumers to make independent and informed utility choices; further economic development; and foster new technologies and competitive markets in an environmentally sound manner.
