HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today fined Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW) $1,000 for failing to comply with the Commission’s billings regulations at 52 Pa. Code § 56.11.

A consumer filed a complaint against PGW claiming that PGW did not credit his account for an overpayment. The Commission ruled to impose a $1,000 fine to be consistent with prior decisions in regard to PGW.

The company has 20 days after notice of the final Commission order to pay the fines.

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission ensures safe, reliable and reasonably priced electric, natural gas, water, telephone and transportation service for Pennsylvania consumers, by regulating public utilities and by serving as stewards of competition.
