PUC Approves Rate Increase Request for Chester County Co.

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today approved a rate increase requested by Elverson Water Co., Inc., Chester County.

The Commission voted 5-0 to approve an increase that allows the company to increase its annual revenues by $15,644 (11.6 percent).

Under the new rates, the bill for the average residential customer who uses 37,600 gallons of water a year would increase by $30 (14.8 percent) a year from $203.28 to $233.28. Elverson Water Company, Inc. furnishes water service to approximately 490 customers in Elverson Borough, Chester County.   More information on the ratemaking process is available on the Commission’s website.
