PUC Approves Lower Rate Increase than Requested by Huntingdon County Water Co.

HARRISBURG - The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today approved a lower rate increase than requested by Rock Spring Water Co., Huntingdon County.
The Commission voted 5-0 to approve a joint settlement to increase the company’s annual rates by $16,800 (14.5 percent). Rock Spring Water Co. had originally proposed an annual increase of revenues of $21,813 (18.9 percent). The settlement was reached among the company, the state’s Office of Consumer Advocate and the PUC’s Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement. The total quarterly water bill for an average residential customer using 10,900 gallons per quarter will increase $7.95 from $53.15 to $61.10.
Rock Spring Water Co. provides water service to approximately 490 customers in Huntingdon County.
