HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today voted to investigate a proposed rate increase by Herman Oil & Gas Co.
The Commission voted 5-0 to investigate the request, which proposes an annual increase in revenues of $779,346 (222 percent). Under the proposal, the bill for an average residential customer using 3,000 cubic feet of gas a year would increase $47.59 (325 percent) a month.
The request is suspended for up to seven months and will be assigned to the Office of Administrative Law Judge for a recommended decision. More information on the ratemaking process is available on the PUC’s website.
The company provides service to approximately 419 residential customers in parts of Butler County.
