Published on 2/9/2023
HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) voted today to suspend the company’s request to allow it to establish contract rates for certain industrial wastewater customers via a rider and to clarify eligibility for proposed rates.
Aqua Pennsylvania Wastewater Inc. (APW) provides wastewater service to approximately 61,000 customers in portions of 16 Pennsylvania counties. APW’s parent company, Aqua Pennsylvania Inc., provides water service to approximately 450,000 customers in portions of 32 Pennsylvania counties.
Today’s action by the Commission suspends the request for up to six months and the case will now be assigned to the PUC’s Office of Administrative Law Judge for an investigation and recommended decision.
A final decision by the Commission on these rate increase requests is due by Aug. 10, 2023.
