PUC Hosting 2024 Philadelphia ‘Be Utility Wise’ Human Services Conference

PUC Joins PECO Energy, PGW, Philadelphia Water Department, UESF, ECA in Promoting Consumer Awareness, Utility Education & Related Support for Vulnerable Populations

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) is hosting Philadelphia’s 2024 “Be Utility Wise” human services conference on Wednesday, March 12, 2024, in PECO’s Energy Hall, 2301 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA  19103.

With this year’s theme “Energy Security – Focusing on Access, Awareness and Enrollment,” the human services conference will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and feature a morning Utility Assistance Panel highlighting the unique challenges facing low-to-moderate income families in Southeastern Pennsylvania.  Joining the PUC for the panel discussion will be representatives of PECO Energy, Philadelphia Gas Works, Philadelphia Water Department, UESF (Utility Emergency Services Fund) and the Energy Coordinating Agency of Philadelphia.

Throughout the day, the 2024 human services conference will also include a panel discussion on programs and assistance available to individuals with special needs, a presentation highlighting workforce development initiatives and a “Fireside Chat” with PECO’s leadership team.

Individuals interested in registering for the conference may do so online or by calling 215-560-6901.  You will need to provide complete information including name; email address; the organization’s name and address; your phone number; and the county/counties that you serve.  The registration deadline to participate in this year’s event is Friday, March 8, 2024, at 5 p.m.

Philadelphia’s Be Utility Wise is a FREE professional development conference promoting consumer awareness, utility education, and life management skills. This annual conference brings together over 150 social service providers, community-based organizations, and low-income advocates from the Philadelphia region. It provides a perfect opportunity to network, share ideas, and access other family support services and resources available within your community.
