Civil Service Requirements

As a state agency, most PUC positions require candidates be qualified by the Pennsylvania Civil Service Commission. In job descriptions, this requirement is listed as Civil Service under the Job Type category. Each job posting describes the hiring process used to fill the position. While some jobs require you to take an examination at a test center, the majority only require job seekers to complete the application and answer job-related questions online. Current state employees with Civil Service status or those who previously held a position with Civil Service status may apply to jobs with Civil Service requirements.

For more information on Civil Service tests, please access the PA State Civil Service Commission web page.

Non-Civil Service Jobs
