PUC Approves Plan for PA-American Water to Extend Service in Newberry Township, York County

    HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Public Utility Commission (PUC) today approved an application by Pennsylvania-American Water Company to provide water service to additional customers in a portion of Newberry Township, York County.

    Water service will be extended to approximately 200-250 residential homes and light industrial facilities west of Old Trail and Susquehanna roads and north of Big Conowaga Creek.

    The customers currently have wells and are not experiencing contamination problems, but have made inquiries about connecting to the Pennsylvania-American system.

    The Hershey-based company provides service to approximately 537,000 customers in 31 counties across the state.
