PUC Approves Plans to Replace Northampton County Bridge

    HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) has approved plans of the state Department of Transportation to replace the bridge where State Rt. 412 (Fourth Street) crosses over tracks of the Philadelphia, Bethlehem and New England Railroad and Conrail, in the City of Bethlehem, Northampton County.

    PennDOT will replace the bridge with two separate single-span structures. The two new bridges will both carry traffic lanes for State Rt. 412.

    Federal and state funds will cover the cost of the $7 million project, which is to be completed by December 31, 2000.
