HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) has approved a $6,032 (8.17 percent) annual rate increase for the Clarendon Water Co. in Warren County, effective tomorrow (March 19).
Under the PUC recommendation, average residential bills will increase $18 annually, from $214 to $232, based on usage of 61,100 gallons.
The company said the increase is needed to meet increased operating and maintenance expenses. Rates were last raised in March 1996.
The PUC received four letters from customers protesting the increase.
Clarendon Water provides service to 333 customers in the borough and portions of Mead Township, Warren County.
