PUC Approves Rate Increase for Meribah Water

    HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) has approved a $3,323 (30 percent) annual rate increase for the Meribah Water Co. in Juniata County, effective upon the entry of a final order.

    Under the PUC’s action, average residential bills for customers using 44,600 gallons a year will increase $68 annually, from $226 to $294. There were no protests to the requested increase. Current rates have been in effect since the company received its PUC certificate in 1989.

    Meribah Water provides service to 49 residential customers in the Delaware Terrace development, Delaware Township, Juniata County.
