HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) Wednesday voted to approve a $46,731 (60 percent) proposed increase for the Roulet Water Company.

Under the company’s proposal, the average annual residential bill for unmetered customers would increase $112, from $185 to $297. The rate increase would affect approximately 415 residential customers in Roulette Township, Potter County.

The proposed increase will become effective on December 1, 2000. The company’s previous rate increase was in 1988.

The company said the increase is needed to finish the metering program to be in compliance with PUC regulations and to finish installing water mains.
