HARRISBURG, Pa. -The Public Utility Commission (PUC) has fined a Lower Burrell limousine company $1,750 for advertising and promoting to transport persons for money without a license.

The PUC’s Bureau of Transportation and Safety found that William R. Pekarek of Pekarek Limousine Service, had been operating a limousine business without holding a certificate of public convenience issued by the commission.

The PUC found that Pekarek Limousine failed to apply for an application and failed to pay a filing fee before beginning service. The company had 20 days to answer the complaint but failed to respond.

The purpose of a fine imposed by the PUC is to prevent further violations of the Public Utility Code.
