HARRISBURG -- The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, Sept. 10, to solicit comments on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s (FERC) proposal to create a Standard Market Design (SMD) to standardize wholesale, interstate electric transmission service.

The hearing will begin at 12:30 p.m. in Hearing Room 1 of the Keystone State Office Building in Harrisburg. The hearing is open to the public.

Utility, business and consumer representatives will share their thoughts before the full Commission. Those comments then will be considered as the Commission files its comments on FERC’s SMD proposal.

The hearing agenda is available on the PUC website under Special Announcements on the main page.

Written comments are due to the Commission by close of business Sept. 10 and should be addressed to James McNulty, PUC Secretary, P.O. Box 3265, Harrisburg, PA 17105. Written reply comments are due by close of business on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
