Published on 9/25/2002

HARRISBURG - The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today approved Roulet Water Company’s request to establish metered rate charges, replacing flat rate charges for residential customers.

Under the company’s proposal, the metered water bill for an average residential customer using 60,000 gallons a year will be approximately $283. Customers currently pay a flat rate of $283 a year. Hunting camps will remain on a flat rate of $118 annually, due to the company’s inability to meter the camps.

Roulet Water serves 402 residential customers in the Township of Roulette, Potter County. The current rates have been in effect since 2000.

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission ensures safe, reliable and reasonably priced electric, natural gas, water, telephone and transportation service for Pennsylvania consumers, by regulating public utilities and by serving as responsible stewards of competition.
