PUC Approves Request for Water Rate Increase for Venango Water Company

If the company rejects the lower amount, its original rate request will be assigned to an administrative law judge for hearings and a recommended decision. The recommended decision then will be sent to the Commissioners to make the final decision in a public meeting. The company had originally sought to increase rates by $10,244.
Under the alternative proposal approved by the PUC, the bill for an average residential customer using 60,000 gallons of water a year would increase approximately $12 from $340 to $352.
