PUC Denies PA-American Water Company’s Request for Facility Protection Charge

On a joint motion by Chairman Terrance J. Fitzpatrick and Commissioner Kim Pizzingrilli, the Commission voted 5-0 to deny the request for the FPC. PUC administrative law judges held four public input hearings throughout the state in February to receive comments from the public. Sixty-three customers filed formal complaints against the proposed surcharge. On May 20, Administrative Law Judge Debra Paist issued a recommended decision denying the request.
