HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today granted Keystone Cab Services of Harrisburg the authority to permanently offer service in Cumberland, Lebanon, Perry and York counties.

On Sept. 10, 2002, Keystone Cab Services filed an application for permanent authority with the PUC to expand its service to Cumberland, Lebanon, Perry and York counties.  Keystone currently provides service in Dauphin County.  The PUC received 29 supporting statements from individuals saying there was a need for taxi service in the proposed service area.  No protests were filed against the application.

Keystone Cab Service can begin service after filing an acceptable tariff and evidence of insurance with the PUC.

Keystone Cab has been offering service in Adams, Perry and York counties since March 14, when the PUC granted Keystone emergency authority to serve the counties. Keystone currently has a permanent authority application to serve Adams County pending before the Commission.

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission ensures safe, reliable and reasonably priced electric, natural gas, water, telephone and transportation service for Pennsylvania consumers, by regulating public utilities and by serving as responsible stewards of competition.
