PUC Offers Tips to Ensure Safe Transportation Service during Prom and Wedding Season

Parents and students are advised not to sign a contract with a limousine company or use a taxicab that does not hold a certificate of public convenience issued by the PUC. Certificate numbers begin with A-000 or A-001 and consist of a total of eight digits. Without that number, they may not legally provide transportation service in
The PUC monitors certificated carriers for insurance coverage, driver and vehicle safety, rates, territory and service.
Should anyone want to contact the PUC to check the violation history of a carrier or the status of its authority, they can contact the District Office located nearest to where the transportation will take place.

If customers experience problems with a limousine service or a taxicab, they may contact the PUCs Motor Carrier Enforcement Division at the above numbers to file a complaint. Complaint forms are also available on the PUCs website at www.puc.paonline.com. Simply click on Forms Online. Select Complaint Forms and use either the Taxi Complaint Form or the Motor Carrier Complaint Form for limousine complaints.
