PUC Ratifies Appointment to Consumer Advisory Council

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today ratified Lt. Gov. Catherine Baker Knoll’s appointment of a DuBois man to its Consumer Advisory Council, which provides input to Commissioners on consumer related issues.

 

Howard J. Shakespeare was appointed for two-year term which started July 2003 and goes through June 2005.  He is the owner and president of H. Shakespeare and Sons.

 

The Consumer Advisory Council represents the public in advising the PUC Commissioners on matters related to the protection of consumer interests which are under the jurisdiction of the PUC. 


The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission ensures safe, reliable and reasonably priced electric, natural gas, water, telephone and transportation service for Pennsylvania consumers, by regulating public utilities and by serving as responsible stewards of competition.
