PUC Fines Aspire Limousine Service Inc. $18,500 for Violations

           HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today fined Aspire Limousine Service Inc., of Montgomery County, $18,500 for operating with a suspended certificate of public convenience.

            The PUC cited the company for transporting customers for 37 days, while under suspension, which carries a penalty of $500 per day. The certificate was suspended for failing to provide proof of insurance to the PUC.

            The PUC’s Bureau of Transportation and Safety filed the complaint against the company on March 9, 2005.

            The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission ensures safe, reliable and reasonably priced electric, natural gas, water, telephone and transportation service for Pennsylvania consumers, by regulating public utilities and by serving as stewards of competition.
