HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today approved a smaller than requested rate increase for Wonderview Sanitary Facilities Inc. (Wonderview), which provides wastewater service to approximately 155 residential and 3 commercial customers in portions of Catawissa and Main Townships in Columbia County, Pennsylvania.
The Commission voted 4-0 to approve an annual operating revenue increase for Wonderview of approximately $11,119 (11.9%) compared to Wonderview’s initial request for a $15,605 annual increase (16.7%).
Under the proposal approved by the Commission today, wastewater rates for residential customer will increase from the current $48 per month to $53.56 per month, rather than the $56 per month that was originally requested by Wonderview.
Rates for commercial customers will increase from the current $120 per month to $133.90 per month, rather than the $140 per month originally requested by Wonderview.
Per today’s action by Commission, Wonderview has 10 days from the entry of the PUC’s order to file a tariff or tariff supplement that contains the proposed changes in rates which the Commission approved today.
If Wonderview does not file the appropriate tariff or tariff supplement during the period stipulated by the Commission, their initial rate increase request will be suspended until February 2021, pending a Commission investigation into the reasonableness of those rates.
