C-20015820 Closed 6/29/2001 COMPLAINANT STATES THAT HE WAS OVERCHARGED FROM FEBRUARY TO APRIL 2000. HE STATES THAT HE WAS CHARGED $129.12 FOR 2 MONTHS OF USAGE. THIS WAS MORE THAN HE HAD PAID WHEN LIVING WITH ANOTHER PERSON IN A 2 STORY HOUSE. AFTER HE HAD MOVED, PPL NOTIFIED HIM THAT THE METERS WERE INCORRECT AND THAT HE HAD BEEN CHARGED FOR ANOTHER TENANT'S USAGE, AND THEY ALSO CLAIMED THAT SOMEONE HAD BEEN CHARGED FOR HIS USAGE SO THEY ONLY REFUNDED HIM $10.55. HE WANTS THE PUC TO DETERMINE IF HE WAS OVERCHARGED AND FIND OUT HOW PPL CAN CLAIM THAT THEY NOW HAVE THE ACTUAL READING.

C-20016021 Closed 8/15/2001 COMPLAINANT STATES THAT PPL SENT THEM A $381.00 BILL IN 6/2001 FOR THEIR GAR- AGE. THEY STATE THAT THEIR MONTHLY BILL AVERAGES BETWEEN $7.00-$15.00. PPL CLAIMS THAT THEIR BILLS WERE WRONGLY ESTIMATED FROM 10/2000-5/2001. A PPL TECH SUBMITTED A REPORT, AND THEY WERE BILLED $794.36. PPL CREDITED THEIR ACCOUNT $794.36, BUT THEY ARE UNWILLING TO CREDIT THE $381.00. THEIR SUB- SEQUENT BILLS WERE FOR $7.83 AND $10.00. COMPLAINANTS WANT PPL TO CREDIT THEIR ACCOUNT AND THEY WANT TO HAVE ACTUAL READINGS TAKEN EACH MONTH, TO AVOID THIS IN THE FUTURE.

WHEN THEY NOTIFIED PPL, THEIR BILLS CAME DOWN DRASTICALLY. THEY WANT THE PUC TO MAKE PPL JUSTIFY THE HIGH BILLS AND PROVE THAT THEY HAD ACTUALLY USED AN ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF ELECTRICITY. THEY ALSO WANT THE PUC TO INVESTIGATE WHY THEIR BILLS CAME DOWN, WITHOUT ALT- ERING THEIR USAGE.
C-20016039 Closed 8/17/2001 COMPLAINANT STATES THAT PPL WANTS TO CHARGE SHERMAN HILLS APTS $5.00 PER PERSON TO DETERMINE AVERAGE USE OF ELECTRICITY FOR THEIR RESIDENTS. THEY STATE THAT HUD REQUIRES THEM TO DO THIS SURVEY ONCE EACH YEAR TO ENSURE THAT THE UTILITY ALLOWANCE WHICH THEY DEDUCT FROM THE RENT, IS CORRECT. THEY WANT THE PUC TO MAKE PPL WAIVE THIS CHARGE, BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT REQUIRES THIS SURVEY.
C-20016046 Closed 8/21/2001 COMPLAINANT STATES THAT PPL IS BILLING HIM $1228.35 FOR HIS RENTAL OFFICE. PPL ADMITTED THAT THIS WAS THEIR FAULT FOR NOT CONVERTING THE BILL INTO HIS NAME WITHIN 3 DAYS OF THE CANCELLATION NOTICE FROM HIS TENANT. HE WAS INFOR- MED THAT EVEN THOUGH IT WAS PPL'S ERROR, HE WAS STILL RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING IT. HE WANTS THE PUC TO INVESTIGATE HIS COMPLAINT.
C-20016081 Closed 8/29/2001 COMPLAINANT STATES THAT SHE DOES NOT USE THE AMOUNT OF ELECTRICITY THAT SHE IS BEING CHARGED FOR. SHE STATES THAT SHE LIVED ALONE FROM 1997-1999, AND HER USAGE WAS 9 TO 10 KWH. FROM JUNE 1999 TO JULY 2000, THERE WERE 3 PEOPLE LIVING IN HER HOME, AND THE USAGE WAS 20 TO 28 KWH. FROM JULY 2000, SHE WAS ALONE AND HER USAGE DID NOT GO DOWN. SHE STATES THAT OTHER PEOPLE USE MORE ELECTRICITY THAN SHE DOES AND PAY 3 TIMES LESS FOR IT. SHE WANTS THE PUC TO INVESTIGATE HER COMPLAINT AND MAKE PPL REFUND HER FOR THE OVERCHARGES.

SHE WANTS THE PUC TO MAKE PPL PROVE THE ACCURACY OF THEIR READINGS, MAKE THEM LOWER THE BILLS FOR ESTIMATED READINGS, AND MAKE THEM DEVISE A WAY TO VERIFY THAT READINGS WERE TAKEN AND THAT THEY WERE ACCURATE.

HE CALLED AND NOTIFIED PPL THAT TENANTS NOW OCCUPY PROPERTY AND THAT HE SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM BILL- ING AND THAT TENANT WOULD CALL TO ARRANGE FOR BILLING. THE TENANT HAD NEVER CALLED TO CHANGE BILLING, PPL NEVER CHANGED HIS NAME FROM BILL AND NEVER FOLLOWED UP WITH UNPAID BILLS OR UNDELIVERABLE MAIL. PPL HOLDS HIM RESPONSI- BLE AFTER ACCOUNT WAS OPEN AND UNPAID FOR A PERIOD WELL IN EXCESS OF 18 MONT- HS. HE FEELS THAT PPL SHOULD HAVE THE BURDEN OF FOLLOW-UP AND COLLECTION W/ TENANTS.
C-20016099 Closed 8/31/2001 COMPLAINANT STATES THAT SINCE SEPTEMBER 1998, PPL HAS MADE A VARIETY OF BILL- ING ERRORS TO HIS ACCOUNT. HE TRIED TO NO AVAIL TO GET THE METER CHECKED, AND HIS LARGE BILLS INCREASED UNTIL HE STOPPED RECEIVING BILLS. WHEN HE INQ- UIRED ABOUT THIS, HE WAS TOLD THAT HIS BALANCE WAS ZERO. HE WAS THEN SENT A BILL OF $864.26. HE WANTS THE PUC TO INVESTIGATE HIS COMPLAINT, MAKE PPL STRAIGHTEN OUT THEIR COMPUTER GLITCHES, AND MAKE THEM CREDIT HIS ACCOUNT.
C-20016113 Closed 9/5/2001 COMPLAINANT STATES SHE WOULD LIKE THE PUC TO INVESTIGATE HER ELECTRIC BILL PAYMENTS. SHE WENT FOR HELP CALLED THE ON-TRACK PROGRAM AND SHE DID NOT QUALIFY BY A COUPLE HUNDRED DOLLARS. THEY HAVE NOW SET HER UP ON A BUDGET PAYMENT THAT SHE KNOWS THAT SHE WON'T BE ABLE TO DO. SHE WANTS THE PUC TO HELP IN REDUCING THE MONTHLY BUDGET PRICE, OR TO HELP IN SOME WAY TO ELIMINA- TE FUTURE PROBLEMS.
