PUC Reminds Consumers to Sign Up for Public Input Hearing on Proposed Acquisition of Royersford Borough Wastewater System by Pennsylvania-American Water Co.

Registration Required by January 6 for Telephonic Hearing on January 7 to Gather Public Input from Customers in Montgomery County and Other Concerned Parties
HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) reminded consumers and other concerned parties about the January 6 registration deadline for a telephonic hearing on January 7 to gather public input on the proposed acquisition of the Royersford Borough wastewater system, located in Montgomery County, by the Pennsylvania-American Water Company.
PUC Public Input Hearing
The public input hearing for this proposed acquisition is scheduled for the following:
- Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021 - Telephonic hearing begins at 6 p.m.
PUC Administrative Law Judge Marta Guhl will preside over the hearing.
Signing Up for the Public Input Hearing
If you wish to testify at the telephonic public input hearing, you must contact the Pennsylvania Office of Consumer Advocate (OCA) before Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, 5 p.m., to provide your name, telephone number, and the topic of your testimony. Call OCA toll free at 1-800-684-6560.
During the telephonic hearing on Jan. 7, customers will testify in the order they signed up.
If you do not wish to testify, but want to listen to the public input hearing, you must also contact the OCA. Any persons that have not contacted the Office of Consumer Advocate by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, will not be able to participate in or listen to the telephonic public input hearings.

Offering Testimony at a Public Input Hearing
The PUC offers tips on how to participate in a public input hearing, including:
- Prepare what you are going to say beforehand. Even though it is not required, you may want to write out your statement, which can be read.
- Any formal testimony that is offered during the hearing will become part of the record on which the PUC will issue its final decision.
- Understand that parties in the case may want to ask you a question to clarify something you said.
