HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today approved a rate settlement for natural gas distribution services provided by Valley Energy Inc., which serves approximately 7,300 residential, commercial, and industrial customers in 12 communities in Bradford County.
The Commission voted 5-0 today to adopt the Recommended Decision of PUC Administrative Law Judges Eranda Vero and Charece Z. Collins and approved the joint settlement in this case.
Under the terms of the settlement, Valley Energy is authorized to file rates that will produce a total increase of $958,000 in annual distribution base rate revenues – compared to an overall increase of $999,631 that was included in Valley Energy’s original request.
Based on the settlement, the monthly bill for a typical residential gas customer using 76 Ccf of natural gas per month will increase from $65.35 to $72.27 (10.6%).
The settlement was supported by the Pennsylvania Office of Consumer Advocate, the PUC’s independent Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement and Valley Energy.
