The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission regulates the many essential utility services that Commonwealth residents and businesses rely on every day. The PUC works to ensure safe and reliable electric, natural gas, pipeline, motor carrier, rail, telecommunications, water and wastewater service at reasonable rates.
Key Discussions in the Keystone State
The NCRA education conference is open to all utility regulatory attorneys having statutory responsibility for working with or appearing before State or Federal regulatory agencies.
Conference InfoFunding for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is expected to run out in April 2024, according to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) unless Congress reauthorizes funding. The Commission PUC is encouraging households who currently receive the ACP benefit to research other assistance programs available to help with broadband assistance, including the Lifeline program, which provides consumers up to $9.25 off the cost of phone or internet.

The DPC is a peer-based group of 13 representatives, nominated by their industry or affiliated
organization and appointed by the PUC. Creation of the committee was authorized by Act 50 of 2017, which enhances Pennsylvania's Underground Utility Line Protection Act - also known as the "One Call Law." The focus of the DPC is to reduce the number of "hits" on underground lines and utilities.
