| Case Description | March 9, 2019, at approximately 9:30 A.M., Peoples Natural Gas LLC (Peoples or PNG), experienced a natural gas outage of 985 customers in Moon Township, Pennsylvania. The outage was caused by a large volume leak at a temporary meter station in the 100 block of Western Avenue. The leak occurred when the steel portion of the aboveground station piping pulled out of a six-inch Dresser style 711, plastic-to-steel coupling. Peoples initially responded with a technician at approximately 8:07 A.M. to investigate “no gas calls” and subsequently were notified about the leaking meter station by a police officer. Peoples dispatched additional emergency personnel and eventually closed the inlet valve on the station at approximately 9:30 A.M. | ||
